Both women-Hedren and Diane Baker- look splendid as horsewomen in this movie: Baker's huntswoman on her grey is particularly erotic. Hitchcock's special effects were notabljjy bad in this picture (the fake "Forio",in particular,and the usual,unconvincing back-projection) but one just wants to see the seconds of footage when Marnie arrives at the stables in her riding-kit and mounts her big,splendid horse.,.What a shame that we couldn't have had more footage of the booted,blond,Hedren,doing the rising trot,posting up and down,up and down...she belonged in the saddle. Diane Baker looks ravishing,too, as a huntswoman on her grey-the hunting bowler-hat headgear suited her as much as the rest of her outfit.A pity about the rest of the film. Another star horsewoman was Katherine Hepburn: see her long horseback sequences in "Keeper Of The Flame"-again,the best thing about the picture. H
